One of the best college basketball betting trends of the season has been fading the Duke Blue Devils, who are just 1-9 ATS.

NCAA basketball bettors get their chance to take advantage of that trend tonight as the Georgie Tech Yellow Jackets head to Durham to face the Duke Blue Devils in ACC action.

We break down the college basketball odds and bring you our best Georgia Tech vs. Duke picks and predictions for Tuesday, January 26,

Duke bounced between the opener of -5.5 and -6 a couple of times at DraftKings, and as of 5:45 p.m. ET, the Blue Devils are -6. However, point-spread ticket count and money are both running about 2/1 on Georgia Tech. The total opened at 141.5, got as low as 139 this morning, rebounded to 141 and is now 140.5, with 91 percent of tickets and 97 percent of cash on the Over.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

Duke has been nothing short of an abject disappointment this season, with the usual college powerhouse just 5-5 SU and on a three-game losing streak. The Blue Devils are just 1-9 ATS this season and have failed to cover the spread in all six of their games at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech is 4-0 ATS in its last four games and 13-5 ATS in its previous 18 contests on the road. Although the Yellow Jackets are coming off a 64-62 loss to Virginia, losing by two points on the road against the No. 13-ranked team in the country is nothing to get discouraged about.

The Yellow Jackets shot 45 percent from the field in that game, including a sizzling 60 percent from three-point range. Having that level of offensive success against a Cavaliers squad that ranks ninth in the country in adjusted defensive efficiency according to KenPom is extremely impressive.

But Georgia Tech’s smooth-shooting hasn’t been limited to just one game, the Yellow Jackets rank 28th in the country with an effective field goal percentage of 54.9 percent. And now they get ready to feast on a soft Blue Devils defense that ranks outside the Top 250 by allowing foes an effective field goal percentage of 52.5.

With Duke struggling to cover the spread and Georgia Tech lighting it up from the field, I’m backing the road dogs with the points.

PREDICTION: Georgia Tech +6 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

Besides ATS records, there are a few other betting trends to keep in mind for this game. The Blue Devils are 15-5-1 to the Over in their last 21 games at home while the Jackets are 5-2-1 to the Over in their previous eight contests on the road.

We mentioned Duke’s poor play on the defensive end of the court this season, but they have been effective on offense, ranking 34th in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency according to KenPom.

Big man Matthew Hurt has been a force down low averaging 19.4 points per game on 53.2 percent shooting, and three other Blue Devils are also scoring in double figures. They should be able to put up points against a Georgia Tech team that allows opponents to shoot 45.6 percent from the floor.

However, the Yellow Jackets have the firepower to keep up with the Blue Devils. Georgia Tech also has four players averaging double-digits in points, led by Jose Alvarado (17.4 ppg) and Moses Wright (17 ppg).

Both of these teams also rank outside the Top-200 schools in the country when it comes to scoring defense, with Georgia Tech surrendering 71.7 ppg and Duke giving up 72.1. We’re expecting open looks for both teams and backing the Over.

PREDICTION: Over 140.5 (-110)
