Williamson and Johnson have career days as Louisville decks Georgia Tech

Well, that was certainly a nice turnaround.

After playing what coach Chris Mack called “deplorable” offense last week in a loss at Clemson, the University of Louisville men’s basketball team started a busy week with a blowout of Georgia Tech, decking the Yellowjackets 74-58 before about 3,000 fans at the KFC Yum Center.

Samuell Williamson and David Johnson had career days as the Cardinals won the game that was added to the schedule because of COVID-19 issues. The game was originally scheduled for mid-December but at that time the Yellowjackets were dealing with COVID issues.

Williamson, coming off the bench for a third straight game, finished with a career-high 20 points and a career-best 18 rebounds. He was 8 of 13 from the field and finished with more rebounds than any other U of L player in a single game since Ellis Myles had 23 against
